About
Eva-Maria Spampinato is an artist, & design historian. It is a relationship she cannot separate, and thus, is the Historical Artist. Over two decades as a “journeywoman” in search of an apprenticeship for craft-based material knowledge, she pursued academia & experience in art and design history, classical fine art training, & art conservation in paintings & paper artworks. Eva-Maria brings her unique background to further investigate art & design through the modes of craft, alchemy, & the natural world.
At her best, Eva-Maria intentionally sources her materials (raw or cooked), with an ethical approach & embodies early modern thrift to balance traditional & contemporary practices, & her values.

Eva-Maria completed her MA in the History of Design from the Royal College of Art/V&A, studied classical drawing at the Florence Academy of Art in Möndal, Sweden, and a BA of History of Art, & Visual Culture at the University of California, Santa Cruz, California, USA.
