thrift embraces the origins of the 13th century English meaning: ‘to thrive, how to manage, respect, & make use of the best of what precious resources given by nature’ in correspondence with the resurgence of empirical values in art, craft, design, and industry in the 21st century.

The journal is devoted to cover all fields of aesthetics, bespoke, craft culture heritage, lifestyle, industry practice, material research, & art conservation that are entangled in the historical & contemporary networks of socio-cultural & economics, consumption, science, technology, politics, globalization, geography, trade, and sourcing.

With an aspiration to bridge art, craft, design and industry, thrift focuses on a holistic approach to harmonize with nature in the 21st century. This journal is a collection of writings & photography of the global collective who share this aspiration.

It is our goal for thrift to be an online journal, & an annual limited publication.

In the meantime here are my writings, key terms & themes
that has inspired thrift.
